Green ThinkerZ Society initiated its project "Girl Child Empowerment"

On 27th Jan 2015, the Green ThinkerZ Society officially launched its project called "Girl Child Empowerment" which is an endeavor to help the needy girl students in order to make them self dependent. In relevance to the same the volunteers of Green ThinkerZ visited the Government Industrial Training Institute for Women situated in Radiala, Kharar, Punjab. The Team of Green ThinkerZ Society distributed the much needed stationery items among the girl students as per requirement and recommendation received from the Institute Administration. 

Mrs. Saroj Bala, Principal, of the Institute warmly welcomed this step of Green ThinkerZ Society. She informed that the girl students in the Govt. I.T.I. (Women) are being taught various skill and job oriented courses like Sewing Technology, Surface Ornamentation Techniques Embroidery, Basic Cosmetology which enable them to get immediate employment after successful completion of their respective courses and even allow them to get self employed. These courses have 70% of Practical Work and only 30% of Theoretical study which enable the students to get equipped with the requisite skills to get employable. Further, she informed that despite the potential of these skill development short term courses having very nominal fee, the rural girl children are not able to take advantage of the government schemes mainly due to financial constraints. She appreciated the effort of Green ThinkerZ Society to come forward to help out the needy girl students. Mr. Manbir Singh and Mrs. Upasna, Faculty Members, of the Institute assisted the Green ThinkerZ Society throughout the process. They facilitated the interaction of Green ThinkerZ Team with the faculty and students of the institute. 

Er. Tanvir Singh, Dr Sapna Mehta, Er. Anita Kumari, Er. Harleen Kaur and Amit Kumar from Green ThinkerZ Society lead the whole project campaign. The Green ThinkerZ Team is committed to continue the campaign to empower more and more girl students to get self dependent.
